Brick oven doorway
The transition arch at the front of the oven was a challenge. There is an angle iron support across the top of the door opening. It took most of a day to mock up, cut bricks and mortar them in place. I started with uncut bricks, then used a cardboard template, then progressed to cut bricks.
I was a little concerned that the slope of the roof down to the door was going to be too steep to allow for good air/smoke flow; a small newspaper test fire put those fears to rest.
